44-year old Oscar Zhao is the Chairman and CEO of BlueFocus Communication Group, one of China’s largest and longest-running local agencies, with revenues of around RMB100m ($12m).
Before founding BluefFocus, Oscar worked in several senior management roles in advertising and PR agencies. One of them was as General Manager with PR agency Lucun, whose clients included Apple, Intel and Wyse.
After nearly 20 years experience in public relations and management, Oscar along with three classmates from Peking University, decided to launch BlueFocus PR Consulting, China’s first homegrown PR agencies.
Today with headquarters in Beijing, BFCG has four regional branch companies and 23 local offices in the Chinese mainland, as well as a global network that covers Hong Kong, Singapore, North America, and Europe. The group employs approximately 3,000 people.
Zhao was born and raised on Zhaoshan Island in Zhejiang Province. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Peking University.
