PRWeek caught up with Henry Schein CEO Stan Bergman backstage at the PRWeek Conference to get his view on advancing CSR efforts.
One of his tips: organizations need to stay engaged with their CSR initiatives.
"Companies that want to advance social responsibility as a part of their success story and that are engaged in it tend to do much better in terms of performance and shareholder value," he said.
Bergman added that CSR can't stop at the executive level. Companies should engage the full range of employees and stakeholders.
"My recommendation is that companies should engage the entire organization in CSR but more importantly as part of that engage in public and private partnerships, involving customers, suppliers, and academic institutions," he said. "And to make this happen, it is all about people."
