The agency has promoted Archie Berens to MD of the UAE office and Sam Turvey to general manager.

Berens was hired as MD of the Abu Dhabi office in September last year and will now oversee the United Arab Emirates.

Turvey, who was already a partner of the firm, will manage the company’s day-to-day operations in Dubai as general manager.

Talal Malik will also join Bell Pottinger as a partner and will lead the agency’s strategic focus on supporting existing clients and new business in Saudi Arabia and neighbouring regions.

Malik joins from McKinsey & Company.

Tim Wilkinson will remain chairman of Bell Pottinger’s Middle East business and Mahmood Ali will continue to lead its Bahrain office.

Wilkinson said: "Not only are we winning an increasing number of high profile mandates, but we have also taken the opportunity on the back of this success, to strengthen our senior team and our service offering across the Middle East and North Africa region.

"Our team is experienced, dedicated and well connected."
