Bell Pottinger shifts Mulberry work to newly launched luxury division

Bell Pottinger has launched a five-strong luxury division with clients including Mulberry as it seeks to exploit the rapidly growing multi-billion-pound market.

The team will be led by on a day-to-day basis by recent hire Karlina Nathan, an associate partner who joined earlier in the summer from Nautor Holding and who will report to Bell Pottinger's consumer MD Will Powell.

Supporting the team as a global adviser is Julia Carrick, founder of How To Spend It magazine and current global ambassador for Walpole British Luxury.

The launch, timed to coincide with London Fashion Week, reflects a growing global industry estimated to be worth £107bn by 2015, explained group CEO of Bell Pottinger James Henderson.

"We have advised luxury brands across all sectors and regions for many years and now the time is right to reinforce that offer," he said.

Clients formerly handled across various parts of Bell Pottinger but now represented by the team include Mulberry, Hirsch and Walpole British Luxury.
