In the role, he will lead the development of non-traditional services following an increase in demand for campaigns focused on design, insight and analysis, digital and content marketing and branding.

Brown joins Hotwire today from Speed Communications, where he worked across b2b and telecoms accounts, including Virgin Media Business.

His hire follows a number of promotions within the agency’s UK team, including Hamilton and Macdonald. The move up will see Hamilton lead Hotwire’s global insight and analytics team, while Macdonald will drive the agency’s consumer portfolio.

Alex MacLaverty, group MD, said: "Non-traditional PR has climbed higher and higher on the agenda for almost all of our clients in the past year and the addition of John to our team means we can now provide even more senior know-how to develop truly integrated campaigns that deliver business results.

"With such a diverse range of talent under our roof, Hotwire has the potential to deliver even bolder, more creative and inventive thinking for our clients than ever before."

David Clare has also rejoined the agency as a programme director, working with an emphasis on digital services for clients Shazam, ZTE, Canvas, Getpaidto and Indeed.
