Integrated communications consultancy Text100 has announced the appointment of Vijayaratnam Tharumartnam as managing consultant for Text100 Malaysia. Tharumartnam will lead the agency’s operations in Malaysia while delivering strategic client consultancy and managing a team of 30 consultants with a focus on driving overall growth strategy.
Since its inception in 2006, Text100 has expanded its portfolio of clients across the technology, government, FMCG, corporate, travel and tourism, online services, and media industries. Tharumartnam’s appointment is expected to bolster Text100's strategic consulting capabilities. He brings almost 20 years of extensive in-house and agency communications experience in government, corporate, and consumer sectors to the business. In his previous capacity, Tharumartnam was the vice president of corporate communications at Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), where he was responsible for the creation and overall communications strategy for MSC Malaysia. His previous experience also includes the role of Vice President of Communications at HSBC Global Resources (UK) Ltd and setting up the corporate communications division at BMW Group Malaysia in a 6-year stint as head of corporate affairs.
"We look forward to having him (Tharumartnam) drive the next phase of growth for us into other sectors through his strong consulting experience and stakeholder network," said Anne Costello, regional director of Text100 Asia Pacific.
The announcement comes on the back of Text100’s recent integration with Bite in the Asia Pacific region, taking their combined Asia business to an approximately 300-strong integrated communications agency with expanded presence in Mainland China, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. The integration of Text100 and Bite will merge the agencies’ expertise in the corporate, financial, telecommunications, healthcare and consumer sectors, and offers industry-leading social media and digital marketing capabilities.
