AB InBev reviews Stella Artois and Budweiser UK work

AB InBev UK, part of the world's largest brewer, has launched a major consumer pitch for some of its biggest brands.

PRWeek understands that the company has recently kicked off a review of both its six-figure Stella Artois and Budweiser accounts, with procurement leading the process.

Threepipe, which handles the Stella Artois work, and Mischief PR, which looks after Budweiser, have been invited to repitch for the work having both originally been appointed in 2010.

An AB InBev UK spokesperson confirmed the process, stating: "We undertake regular reviews of all our supplier arrangements. We have invited our existing agencies to participate in the review for PR agency support."

The two brands have fared well in the UK market in the first half of this year, with sponsorship deals helping drive overall growth in UK sales by 13.5 per cent.

Stella Artois’ market share growth was aided by its sponsorship of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, with president Inge Plochaet stating the brand had "particular success".

Both Mischief and Threepipe declined to comment.
