Lisa Talbot: 40 Under 40 2013

EVP and MD, New York Healthcare, Cohn & Wolfe
39

Tenacious, smart, and thoughtful, Lisa Talbot consistently comes up with spot-on communications strategies for her many satisfied clients. As EVP and MD of the New York healthcare practice for WPP agency Cohn & Wolfe, she directs the firm’s work for several of the world’s top pharmaceutical companies and manages all of the practice’s business development efforts.

In her nine years at the agency, she has been instrumental in establishing a solid foundation for the practice, contributing to the group’s significant growth and to the firm being named the 2013 PRWeek Agency of the Year. In 2012 alone the practice grew 22% year over year, with Talbot the driving force behind much of that growth. She has strategically pursued pipeline business across critical therapeutic areas resulting in the acquisition and development of multiple franchises, while her unique approach, centered on patient behavior and insights, has won many big-name clients.

As a result, C&W now represents 50% of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies, including work on seven global franchises in the fields of aesthetics, dermatology, central nervous system, oncology, pain, respiratory, and virology. For example, she recently helped set the agency apart from others competing to develop a disease awareness program for multiple sclerosis. Her deep understanding of the condition and treatment enabled her to develop an initiative described by the client as truly "spot on."

Those who have worked with Talbot describe her as "a wonderful person to be around" and a "great mentor and leader."

"Lisa is that rare talent of great intelligence, masterful skills, unbounded energy, and true dedication to her clients and her team," says C&W CEO Donna Imperato.

"She has grown every piece of business that falls under her domain and clients are constantly citing her strategic thinking and her 24/7 approach to client service," she adds. "Lisa is a true star in the industry."
