His diverse background in traditional media, crisis communications, politics, digital, and social media make Dallas Lawrence a true all-rounder. And in late May, he brought all those talents to Mattel, where he serves as head of global corporate communications and government affairs. Lawrence now oversees corporate and executive communications, reputation man­agement, and government affairs for the Fortune 500 toy company.

His impressive career has spanned senior communications roles in both the legislative and executive branches of government. For example, he spearheaded one of the largest communications departments for the Secre­tary of Defense.Other key achievements include develop­ing the new-media team for the National Association of Manufacturers, the nation’s largest trade association. His most recent role was chief global digital strategist at Burson-Marsteller, where he was also a member of the business operations team, which includes the firm’s most senior executives. In that role, he provided leadership to more than 100 digital strategists worldwide and worked with big-name clients including the Nuclear Energy Institute, Accenture, Coca-Cola, Ford, and Bank of America.

Lawrence is recognized as a leader in digi­tal strategy not only by his peers, but also by those covering the industry, including CNN, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal.He recently co-authored an op-ed in the Journal with former US Secretary of Home­land Security Michael Chertoff about the role social media played in the recent hunt for the terrorist suspects in the Boston Mar­athon bombing case."Dallas is as comfortable providing digital strategy as he is guiding traditional media outreach and managing high-stakes crisis situations for clients around the world," says Jay Leveton, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide EVP.
