Flack: Boris, the spinner, and the Old Primrosian conspiracy

Flack was bemused to stumble into a storm in a PR teacup involving the irrepressible Boris 'definitely not gunning for the Tory leadership' Johnson after this clip from a recent Channel 4 interview surfaced online.

The pathologically unkempt London Mayor was interrupted mid-ramble about his early school days with caricaturists’ catnip Ed Miliband by, in Johnson’s own words, "my own spin doctor".

Being the inquisitive creature it is, Flack innocently put in a call to the press team to find out who said spin doctor was.

Little did it realise it’d get a call quicksmart from Boris’ top comms man Will Walden, who dubbed himself a "berk" and "held up his hands" to being the man in question, and told Flack that he thought the proper interview hadn’t started yet.

Calls have even been made to interviewer Cathy Newman, who tweeted in corroboration with Walden’s account, in apology.
