LOS ANGELES: Edelman has appointed Cricket Wardein, head of the firm’s US digital operation, to serve as president of the Western region, effective immediately.
Wardein is based in Los Angeles and will lead six offices in the Western region, including Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sacramento in California, as well as Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. She reports to Edelman US president and CEO Russell Dubner.
Prior to Wardein’s promotion, Curt Kundred led the Western operation. Kundred stepped down from the regional president role in 2013, and Edelman US COO Julianna Richter managed those responsibilities in the interim.
Edelman’s Western region represents about $116 million in revenue and houses some of the agency’s largest accounts, such as Starbucks, Microsoft, eBay, and Activision.
The firm promoted Wardein last year from director of Edelman Digital West to US digital lead, a new position at the company. She has worked at Edelman since 2009.
Before Edelman, Warden spent eight years at Yahoo, leading marketing for it personals and music divisions, managing the overall brand, and serving as CMO of the Australia and New Zealand operations.
