NEW YORK: Kaplow chief innovation officer Chaim Haas will depart the firm on Thursday to lead communications at a startup.
Haas declined to say who is replacing him or the name of the startup, but he did note that someone had been "tapped" to take over his role.
Haas was tasked with looking for unique ways for Kaplow’s clients to connect with their target consumer audiences through innovative technology startups, creative content partnerships, and other "imaginative" direct-to-consumer executions, according to his LinkedIn profile.
"[Haas] is a long-time friend of the agency and very talented PR practitioner, and we wish him great success in his future endeavors," said Liz Kaplow, president and CEO of the eponymous firm, via email. "As an agency with strong consumer roots, we’re excited to have a deep bench of leadership with many years of experience in place to guide our existing and new clients in the consumer technology space."
Haas joined Kaplow in 2006 as VP before moving up to roles including SVP for technology and emerging media and executive director of the Knext business unit. He began his most recent role as chief innovation officer last October.
Prior to Kaplow, Haas served as associate VP at Euro RSCG Magnet and held senior account roles at GolinHarris, Mindstorm Communications, and TSI Communications.
