NEW YORK: Bloomberg LP has upped global marcomms chief Deirdre Bigley to global CMO.
She will replace Maureen McGuire, who was named the company’s first CMO in 2009, and report to CEO Dan Doctoroff. Bigley’s responsibilities will include overseeing all marketing strategy for the company and its global products.
McGuire will continue to work for Bloomberg LP on special projects focused on philanthropy, diversity, and leadership. She had worked with Bigley to design and launch Bloomberg LP’s first international marketing department, according to a statement from the company.
Before joining Bloomberg in 2009, Bigley worked at IBM for 13 years in various roles, most recently as VP of worldwide advertising and interactive and VP of worldwide brand. She also served as director of integrated marketing communications for IBM Americas and advertising manager for IBM corporate. Bigley has also worked on the agency side as a global account manager at Ogilvy Worldwide, according to her LinkedIn profile.
