Naylor announced the move today and will not be replaced, with co-head of global comms Pierre Goad set to handle the role alone. It is not known when Naylor is leaving.

Naylor and Goad joined HSBC together in 2011, with Goad taking responsibility for internal affairs and strategic comms while Naylor headed up external communications. Naylor joined from Credit Suisse and Goad from Zurich Financial Services.

HSBC is currently conducting a review of its public affairs consultancy support for its UK public policy team, PRWeek reported this week.

An HSBC spokesman said that Naylor was leaving to "pursue other opportunities" but declined to comment further.
