NEW YORK: Magrino, which recently rebranded from Susan Magrino Agency, has hired Aurora Kessler as SVP of the travel and real estate practice.
Kessler, who previously served as MD at Rubenstein Public Relations, reports to Magrino president and COO Allyn Magrino.
Renata Hopkins led the agency’s travel and real estate practice before Kessler. Hopkins joined MSLGroup last month as an SVP in the New York consumer practice.
Magrino’s travel and real estate division consists of 13 of the agency’s 40 staffers. Clients in the practice include The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and Baccarat Hotel & Residences, among others.
Magrino said she hired Kessler because of her mix of in-house and agency experience, as well as her intelligence and strategic thinking.
Prior to Rubenstein, Kessler managed global communications for Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. She previously served as media manager for Amanresorts in the Asia-Pacific region.
At the end of last year, Magrino changed its name from Susan Magrino Agency and launched an updated website. The decision to rebrand was a "natural evolution" because people already referred to the 22-year-old firm by its shortened name, Magrino explained.
The agency still retains its former name legally, and CEO and chairman Susan Magrino remains active with clients, Magrino added.
