MWW has been tasked with helping a charity set up by UK-based billionaire Sheikh Mohamed Bin Issa Al Jaber to develop talent and education across the Middle East and North Africa.

The agency will be handling a UK-focused public affairs brief for the MBI Al Jaber Foundation, which seeks to increase educational opportunities for promising students.

MWW public affairs head and account lead Simon Gentry said work would partly focus on the Foreign Commonwealth Office and identifying where the UK Government’s international remit touched upon the foundation’s work.

"It is public affairs in the broadest sense," he added, "in that we’re helping them build relationships and partnerships with not just those in government but stakeholders beyond too."

Recent work by the foundation has included the establishment of an independent journalism school in Yemen late last year.

Al Jaber’s business empire MBI International covers sectors including retail and oil, ranking him 13th on this year’s Sunday Times rich list.

The work, won through referral, was previously with Gentry's former employer Good Relations, which has scaled down its public affairs operation.
