BEVERLY HILLS, CA: Nicole Rodrigues, former VP of entertainment content at Bender/Helper Impact, has founded her own PR and digital marketing firm named NRPR Group.
She has worked on the firm’s launch, which took place on Wednesday with an office in Beverly Hills, California, for the past three months. Rodrigues left her role at Bender/Helper in January, she said.
NRPR is focused on PR, social media, digital marketing, event marketing, and asset and creative development.
"The days where all we had to do as PR people was lock-in coverage for clients are dead and gone," explains Rodrigues. "We have to be Jacks and Jills of multiple trades; if not, we lose business opportunities."
She added that the agency will serve clients in her "sweet spots," including sports and entertainment, technology, and lifestyle.
At the moment, NRPR has two full-time staffers and two contractors. Rodrigues said her goal is to have 10 to 15 full-time employees and a roster of at least 20 clients a year from now. The firm is working on accounts including entertainment companies Parking Meter Productions, More Sauce Productions, and SkyVizion Entertainment. She is also working with consumer brands The Lingerie Stylist and Fitmark.
During Rodrigues’ time at Bender/Helper, she worked with a number of clients on strategy development, such as M-GO, Toon Hero, YouTube. Previously, she worked with various technology and entertainment brands, including Sony Pictures Entertainment, Dolby, Yahoo, MobiTV, Sony Playstation, Dailymotion, eHow, Cracked, and LiveStrong.com during tenures at Miller PR, Demand Media, and Voce Communications.
