Mellor made her initial step into PR by doing a week’s work experience after sending a CV to the GolinHarris deputy MD. "I used the week to showcase my skills so that I would be considered for the Bright Young Things intern scheme, which worked," she says.
An exceptional intern from day one, Mellor was securing coverage in national media and key women’s titles within weeks, says director of marketing and talent Jane Fordham. "Her desire to learn and natural instinct for media relations has seen her progress far faster than most new joiners," adds Fordham.
Now a media associate, Mellor helps run the Cadbury press office. "We work hard, but it is rewarding when you secure first-class coverage for clients in print, online or across social media," Mellor adds.
