The PRWeek Awards as aphrodisiac

University of Westminster's visiting professor of PR Trevor Morris gives it to you straight.

I work for a b2b PR agency on a range of interesting but unglamorous accounts. I recently met a rather gorgeous woman who was very impressed that I worked in PR. She instantly assumed my work entailed lots of celebrities and parties. I’m afraid I didn’t dissuade her. Indeed, I promised to take her to a showbiz event. What should I do?

She is obviously a very shallow and superficial young woman if all she is interested in is parties and celebrities. You are obviously a sad and superficial young man if you mislead members of the opposite sex in the hope of a bit of horizontal jogging. You are clearly made for each other.

Take her to one of the industry awards nights – the PRWeek and PRCA events are usually pretty good. Buy some champagne and say hello to everyone who looks glamorous or famous including the celebrity compère. That should secure you the sordid night of passion you so obviously crave.
