The organizers of a conference for the biggest names in retail have launched a hunt for a PR agency to generate interest in attending the event in Paris this September.
An RFI sent out in recent weeks is calling for PR assistance ahead of the World Retail Congress, which is set to be attended by up to 1,500 senior industry figures.
The document, seen by PRWeek, states that those targeted by the winning agency will include company owners, presidents, and CEOs.
This will be done through "social media, personalized emails, press releases, forward features and special reports," it adds, with agency contacts in France and the EU an important requirement.
Previous speakers at the event, which launched in 2007, have included figures from Walmart, Carrefour, Tesco, and Procter & Gamble.
The pitch winner will also be tasked with helping promote two other strands to the World Retail Congress, including calling for entries to the World Retail Awards and promoting the World Retail Expo.
Launched for the first time this year, the expo will take place at the same time as the congress and aim to "showcase the most pioneering technology, solutions and products" for retailers.
The World Retail Congress, which alongside the show in Paris runs a series of regional events, had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publishing.
