PLMR appoints Professor Tim Morris as non-executive director

The vet who helped establish the British Horseracing Authority's anti-doping and animal welfare programme has joined PLMR as a non-executive director.

Professor Tim Morris, who has also worked in public affairs for GSK, was a client of the agency when he was director of equine science and welfare at the BHA before leaving at the end of 2012.

Since early 2013 Morris has been the principal director of Scientialis, a PR agency focused on scientific clients, which is allied with PLMR.

He is currently an adviser to the BHA and the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, as well as a non-executive director of Defra's Health and Welfare Board for England.

PLMR works on the horseracing industry’s The Horse Comes First campaign, which is backed by several bodies including the BHA.

Morris said he had worked with PLMR founder Kevin Craig for more than a decade and was pleased to be joining the board to bring expertise in animal health and welfare, food and feed safety and auditing.
