WASHINGTON: Qorvis MSLGroup has named Keith Strubhar as SVP.
He is the former director of communications for Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services.
In the newly created role, Strubhar will report to Michael Petruzzello, president of Qorvis and North America director of public affairs at MSLGroup. Strubhar began working in the role on April 1.
He has more than 20 years of experience in public affairs and communications, working at agencies and in-house in the private and nonprofit sectors. Strubhar has expertise in energy and defense, two of the firm’s "core areas," explained Petruzzello.
"He’s managed business from both the agency side and the client side. He sees the issues from our clients from both perspectives," he added. "He’s a rare find."
The firm, recently bought by and rebranded as part of MSLGroup, found Strubhar through its in-house recruiter, he added.
During his tenure at Raytheon, Strubhar was responsible for organizational communications, media relations, stakeholder outreach, and international communications for the $5.5 billion business, according to a statement from MSLGroup. Previously, he was director of public affairs at Burson-Marsteller, leading its DC energy and infrastructure practice.
Earlier in his career, Strubhar was SVP of Direct Impact, Burson’s grassroots advocacy firm specializing in communications and legislative strategy. He started his career in campaign politics in Florida.
In January, MSLGroup parent Publicis Groupe bought Qorvis, rebranded it as Qorvis MSLGroup, and integrated it into MSL. Petruzzello, then a managing partner at Qorvis, was named president of the renamed firm at that time. He also serves as MSLGroup’s North American public affairs director.
