Mischief opens edible bank to promote £1m Tate & Lyle competition

Sugar company Tate & Lyle has launched an on-pack competition, 'Bake Your Dream Come True', with an installation conceived by Mischief featuring money made from cake and confectionery.

The ‘Bank of Baking’ can be found at the Truman Brewery in East London. It includes more than over one hundred pieces of edible art from bags of chocolate coins, gold bars made from cake to piles of edible cookie banknotes.

The prizes and rewards on offer total £1m and include a £5,000 cash reward for up to five would-be baking entrepreneurs to provide financial support to start a business. The PR push cites research showing that 20 per cent of Britons would like to open their own baking business.

Other prizes include are baking trips to a few European destinations to learn how to make the classic desserts from tiramisu to sachertorte, baking hampers and kits, recipe books and masterclasses.
