Coverage of the 3D printer’s Kickstarter campaign was embargoed until 2pm and appears on influential sites such as The Verge, Engadget, and Techcrunch.

Dynamo co-CEO Peter Bowles said of the swift success: "We are thrilled to prove that 3Doodler was no flash in the pan. The team have worked hard on The Micro, the first compact 3D printer, raising over $100,000 in 18 minutes already."

At the time of publication more than 700 people have pledged nearly $200,000 to back production of The Micro, which claims to be the first truly consumer 3D printer, and these figures are still rising.
