LONDON: Aircraft manufacturer Airbus has bolstered its UK government relations team by appointing Simon Astley as head of government affairs for Airbus Helicopters and Tom Page as public affairs manager for Airbus in the UK.
Astley will be responsible for all government and political contact for Airbus Helicopters in the UK.
Before joining Airbus Helicopters, Astley was head of public affairs at infrastructure company Balfour Beatty working in the energy and transportation sectors.
Page has experience working with a number of Labour Party members of Parliament. After the 2010 general election, he joined Interel as a senior political consultant in its defense and security practice, providing intelligence briefings for its wide base of UK and US clients.
Astley has replaced Tim Macmahon, who has retired, and Page's role is newly created.
