NEW YORK: Ogilvy PR Worldwide has not been affected by job cuts at Ogilvy & Mather that impacted nearly 3% of employees at the ad agency's New York and West Coast offices.
“PR is not impacted by this,” said Toni Lee, director of PR at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide.
An agency source said the job cuts mainly touched Ogilvy & Mather's advertising division and direct and interactive shop OgilvyOne. The layoffs, which stretched across departments such as creative, production, and account management, were focused on restructuring talent, but the company is hiring in other divisions, the source said.
The job cuts stemmed from client-spending issues, as well as the need for more tech-savvy staff members, according to earlier reports.
