CHICAGO: Kellogg has appointed The K Group Public Relations Company, a new agency formed by Edelman, to run PR efforts for its US brands.

The company initially selected Weber Shandwick and sister agency Current Lifestyle Marketing to lead PR efforts for its US brands in October, but the agencies had to resign their roles due to possible conflicts within the Interpublic Group holding company.

“The K Group Public Relations Company will provide a unique solution for our brands with the creation of a new business entity dedicated exclusively to Kellogg, and will provide a best-in-class resource for our needs today and for the future,” said Brandy Ruff, director for brand PR at Kellogg, in an emailed statement.

She added that the company will continue working with Ketchum and MSLGroup on various projects dealing with corporate communications, internal communications, and cause-related marketing.

“Kellogg continually seeks agency partners that can provide the highest level of strategic, activation, and creative support for our company and brands,” Ruff added in the email.
