WASHINGTON: Hill+Knowlton Strategies has hired Josh Hendler as global chief technology officer.
Reporting to Andrew Bleeker, global director of the firm's digital practice, Hendler will work to build the agency's technology offerings, as well as develop and manage its technology product portfolio.
“We need to be able to provide not just strategy, but also do implementation and actually marry the technology with the strategy. That's a really important part of this role,” said Hendler. “A CTO role at a PR firm is somewhat untraditional, but I really think that with the growth in digital and how communications and technology is changing substantially, the role of technology is also changing. It requires technology leadership, whereas before it wasn't as necessary.”He began on January 9 and is based in Washington.
Previously, Hendler was CTO at Jumo, a social platform. Prior to Jumo, he was director of technology for the Democratic National Committee and Organizing for America, where he supervised the party's technology efforts, software development, infrastructure, and data warehouse.
