CHICAGO: US Cellular is conducting an agency search for national PR assistance, according to numerous industry sources.

The wireless carrier, which works with various regional PR agencies, has begun an RFP process seeking its first national PR firm, sources familiar with the search said.

It is understood that the company will still work with its regional agencies, and the winning firm will focus on better organizing and integrating US Cellular's communications efforts across all of its US regions.

US Cellular representatives did not return calls and emails seeking comment on the matter.

In 2009, US Cellular worked with 11 PR agencies nationwide on its "Calling All Communities" CSR campaign, which awarded 10 schools $100,000 apiece. National media and communications efforts for that initiative were managed internally by US Cellular.

The company hired Mary Dillon, former global CMO and EVP at McDonald's, as president and CEO for the US in May 2010.
