DES MOINES, IA: The Iowa Lottery Authority has released a multi-million dollar marketing RFP with significant PR components.
The winning firm will be responsible for marketing strategy and planning, as well as ongoing strategic brand communication counsel. It will also be charged with providing assistance for promotional event planning, website consultation, and social media guidance.
The contract's budget is expected to be nearly $7 million for the first year of the two-year contract, which will end June 30, 2014. The authority has the right to extend the contract for up to four years.
Agencies can respond to the RFP in three different ways. Firms can apply for only the creative advertising services portion of the RFP, which contains all PR components. Firms can also apply for just the media planning, buying services, and products portion of the contract, or for both portions, said Mary Neubauer, VP of external relations at Iowa Lottery.
There will be a mandatory vendor briefing on January 27. The deadline for the RFP is February 20. After a second cycle with finalists, the authority will choose a winner by May.
The Integer Group has handled the creative aspects of the account since 2007. Strategic America has managed the media planning and buying aspects of the contract for the same period of time, Neubauer said.
