NEW YORK: Kaplow has promoted David Richeson to chief digital officer and managing director, a newly created position at the agency, six months after hiring him as SVP.
Richeson will work closely with CEO Liz Kaplow in the managing, planning, and execution of accounts, and continue to oversee the agency's Kdrive social media division.
Kaplow said via email that Richeson has "helped to lead the agency towards fully holistic planning and execution" during his time at the firm. She added that "his deep digital and operational experience has helped equip Kaplow to succeed in this changing media landscape."
The firm has expanded the social strategy and community management teams, as well as its in-house content-creation and analytics units, during his tenure at the firm.
Kaplow hired Richeson as SVP for consumer technology and the Kdrive digital studio last August. The firm then shifted Chaim Haas, SVP of technology and emerging media, to focus more on business, technology, and thought leadership.
Richeson previously worked as SVP for global and digital PR at Porter Novelli, and group account director and director of program management at digital agency SapientNitro. He has also worked at Deutsche Bank Securities and Bear Stearns.
Kaplow also hired Nick Charles, former EVP and director of global content at Porter Novelli, as editor-in-chief and executive director of content in November.
