SACRAMENTO, CA: The state of California has chosen Ogilvy PR Worldwide to develop an outreach campaign to inform consumers seeking health insurance about the state's new exchange program.
The exchanges are marketplaces where consumers buy insurance and insurers sell plans. They were established under the Affordable Care Act. The $900,000 contract will conclude at the end of October 2013.
Meanwhile, the deadline for agencies to apply to become AOR for Minnesota's health insurance exchange closed March 12. The state is seeking a firm to develop a public awareness campaign “that will keep the exchange in the news and throughout the social realm in a positive manner,” the RFP said.
Matt Swenson, director of communications at the Minnesota Department of Commerce, said four firms applied to provide PR support, but he declined to name them or release the budget for the RFP.
