RNC appoints comms staff

WASHINGTON: The Republican National Committee has hired several staffers for its communications team.

WASHINGTON: The Republican National Committee has hired several staffers for its communications team.

Tim Miller has joined the RNC as deputy communications director. He previously served as lead spokesman for the presidential campaign of former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman.

Darren Littell, former press secretary for US Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV), will serve as the RNC's Southwest press secretary, while Ryan Mahoney, former communications director for the Maryland Republican Party, will oversee the Midwest region. Matt Connelly, former deputy press secretary for Huntsman, will handle the Southeast.

Allie Brandenburger will join the RNC later this month as Northeast regional spokeswoman. She previously served as communications director for US Rep. Jeff Denham (R-CA) and deputy press secretary for Meg Whitman's 2010 California gubernatorial campaign.

The RNC hired Bettina Inclan to focus on Latino outreach in January.
