CHICAGO: Ogilvy & Mather's Social@Ogilvy practice, which connects the agency's social media experts across PR, advertising, and marketing, has hired Linda Saindon as SVP.
Reporting to Nathan Friedman, MD of Ogilvy PR Chicago, Saindon will lead the Social@Ogilvy team in the Windy City, develop campaigns, help to shape Social@Ogilvy, and advise brands on incorporating social media into their strategies across disciplines.
She will collaborate with Ogilvy staffers across all the company's units, including advertising and shopper marketing, to bring social into all of the firm's work.
Previously, Saindon was a GM in Sears Holdings' online business unit, as well as director of social media leading the Sears and Kmart social properties. She has also worked as a marketing consultant at Pioneer Drive, brand manager at ConAgra Foods, and consultant at Kraft Foods.
“The way we're positioning things, not just around social media, communications, and marketing, but really around social business solutions, is very attractive to me in terms of being very forward thinking and something that is going to deliver a lot of value to our clients,” said Saindon. “That was one of the big drivers of my decision to come here.”
Ogilvy & Mather launched Social@Ogilvy in February with Ogilvy PR MD John Bell leading the unit from New York. The firm folded Ogilvy PR's 360 Digital Influence practice, which had handled social media marketing and communications clients for seven years, into Social@Ogilvy.
