PUTEAUX, FRANCE: Havas reported 3.6% year-over-year first-quarter organic growth in North America. Total revenue in North America equaled $179.5 million, compared to $165 million in the same period last year.
Companywide Q1 revenue increased 7.2% to $511 million from $476.6 million in 2011, and total organic growth in the first quarter was up 3.5%, compared to 6.8% in Q1 of 2011.
Havas reported that revenue grew the most in emerging markets, with Asia Pacific and Africa earning a combined 12.2% organic growth and Latin America growing organically 12.4%. France, where the company has its headquarters, saw 5.1% organic growth in Q1, while the UK's organic growth slowed by -0.2%.
Net new business for the company was $799 million in Q1. Some of those wins included Euro RSCG New York being named AOR for Atlantic City; Euro RSCG Chicago winning Americas PlayStation Network; and Euro RSCG Chicago also winning the global Claire's Accessories account.
The holding company, which includes Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, Cake, and Abernathy MacGregor, does not break our PR revenues.
At the beginning of the year, Euro RSCG Worldwide PR promoted its regional marketing director for Euro RSCG Asia Pacific Dalton Dorné to CMO of the agency. The firm was also recently hired by the Miami Ad School for the launch of a new marketing program.
Havas ended last year with $2.2 billion in revenues and 5.9% organic growth.
