WASHINGTON: Burson-Marsteller has named US Navy Reserve Rear Admiral Vic Beck MD in its US public affairs practice.
Beck will be based in Washington, reporting to Nate Tibbits, chair of Burson's US public affairs practice.
Beck serves as vice chief of information for the US Navy on a part-time basis, overseeing about 500 communications professionals. He served as a member of the US Navy Reserve for more than 25 years, and was on active duty from 1985 to 1992.
Beck was the chief of media operations at headquarters of Multi-National Force Iraq in Baghdad from August 2007 to April 2008, and was director of an international media-engagement team for US Central Command from April to August 2007. He has also worked as VP of communication planning and strategy at consulting firm S4 and VP at Peter Arnold Associates.
