BELTSVILLE, MD: Cloud marketing software provider Vocus has added broadcast monitoring for TV and radio to its News on Demand product.
The move will bring streaming video of broadcast coverage in 210 demographic market areas in the US to the product. It will also include coverage in 15 international markets, including France, Germany, the UK, Canada, and China. Previously, Vocus solely offered closed-captioned monitoring of the top 100 domestic market areas.
Vocus will tag the video clips with audience size and circulation numbers, and they can be stored for up to 30 days for free. The company will also have additional download packages available for customers who want to save their clips permanently.
The pricing for Vocus Premium Broadcast Monitoring will start at $1,500 per year, which allows access to 50 clips per month. Customers who want to keep certain clips permanently can purchase a download package for $750 per year, which allows them to save five clips per month. Unlimited access starts at $3,000 per year, with a $500 fee for each additional user.
"This pricing model is very competitive and provides the flexibility to meet the needs for organizations of all sizes - from a small shop to a large global PR team," said Frank Strong, director of PR at Vocus.
Vocus developed the offering in response to the needs of marketing and communications professionals looking to measure the results of their integrated campaigns, the company said.
"It's understandable that customers would want to be able to view and share the actual video of a broadcast mention as opposed to simply the transcript of the program," Strong said. "If a picture is worth 1,000 words, video is worth 1 million," Strong said.
Vocus acquired iContact, a cloud-based email and social marketing service provider, in February.
