MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Technology nonprofit Mozilla is in the final stages of a search for an agency partner, a representative at the organization confirmed on Friday.

Mozilla currently works with Allison+Partners on a project basis. CEO Scott Allison confirmed that his agency is participating in the review. Mozilla also collaborates with partner firms around the globe.

The nonprofit has worked with OutCast Communications and A&R Partners in the past.

Best known for its popular Firefox internet browser, which launched in 2004 as a challenger to Internet Explorer, the nonprofit lists its mission as “to promote openness, innovation, and opportunity on the internet.”

The company also makes the Thunderbird email product, SeaMonkey application suite, and Lightning and Sunbird calendar and scheduling products. It also developed the Camino web browser for Max OS X, and other tools and applications have been made by other companies using Mozilla technologies.

The group is also a member of Knight-Mozilla OpenNews, a project launched in Spring 2011 to encourage innovation in news gathering.
