NEW YORK: AppSense, a cloud-based virtualization company, has hired Horn as its US AOR.

Todd Cadley, New York-based SVP, will lead the account team of six staffers.

Horn was hired after a review involving six firms. Mindshare PR previously managed technology press communications for AppSense for three years, but the company decided to go in a new direction and find a bi-coastal firm that could handle a broader scope of work.

“We are in the cloud technology business, and it's really important for us to have an innovative voice out there in the market,” said Pete Rawlinson, CMO of AppSense. “They were very quick to pick up the AppSense personality and represent that. That really helps us because we can give them a lot of stuff, and we don't have to keep tabs on them too closely, which is great.”

Horn is responsible for digital, social, and PR. The firm will assist with product launches, web design and development, analyst and media relations, and social media strategy and execution. The account's budget was not disclosed.

“It's a great opportunity to work with a global enterprise IT company and help advance the next big wave in computing,” said Ben Billingsley, Partner at Horn.
