Tuffin exits health insurance group to rejoin APCO

WASHINGTON: Mike Tuffin, EVP at America's Health Insurance Plans, is leaving the trade group to rejoin APCO Worldwide as MD of its Washington headquarters.

WASHINGTON: Mike Tuffin, EVP at America's Health Insurance Plans, is leaving the trade group to rejoin APCO Worldwide as MD of its Washington headquarters.

He will replace the recently promoted Robert Schooling, who now serves as the agency's president for the Americas.

Prior to joining the health insurance trade group, Tuffin served as VP at APCO until 2005. He also previously worked as senior director of strategic communications at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America from 2002 to 2003. He will rejoin APCO June 2.

“The world is changing, and so are the needs of clients. Stakeholders are interacting with brands in new and complex ways and significantly raising expectations for companies,” said APCO CEO Margery Kraus, in a statement.

In February, APCO promoted Paul Dyck to SVP of the firm's government relations practice.
