WASHINGTON: Fenton has hired Kalee Kreider, former communications director and environmental adviser to former Vice President Al Gore, as MD of its Washington office.
She will officially join the agency by July. As MD, Kreider will oversee the office, manage staff, bring in new business, raise awareness of the agency's Washington presence, and serve on Fenton's executive management team. She will also work to expand the firm's work on climate, technology, clean tech, and CSR issues. Kreider will report to agency CEO David Fenton and COO Parker Blackman.
While working for Gore, Kreider supported research and marketing for three books, a film, and an app for the iPhone and iPad. She also managed communications for Gore's work with Apple, Google, Generation Investment Management, Current TV, and Kleiner Perkins, Caufield & Byers. Kreider also worked on the slideshow that was the basis for the documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
Kreider said she had an incredible experience working for Gore, but she was ready for something new after six and a half years in the role.
“There comes a point when it's a good thing for you to have a different experience,” she said.Kreider previously worked as an SVP at Fenton from 2003 through 2006. At the time, she specialized in media campaigns, crisis communications, and Capitol Hill outreach for clients such as MoveOn.org, Win Without War, and the Energy Future Coalition.
