EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ: MWW Group has acquired Los Angeles-based PR and brand marketing firm Enso Communications.
The agency also appointed Enso founding partner JP Schuerman EVP and GM of its Los Angeles office. Enso's four employees will also join MWW.
MWW already had a Los Angeles office that focused on public affairs, sustainability, and consumer lifestyle. With the acquisition, the agency's LA branch will expand its work to include technology and digital entertainment.
“I think this is a terrific opportunity for a firm the size of MWW in Los Angeles,” said Schuerman. “MWW has a real opportunity to take hold of business that is local to Southern California.”
Schuerman will be responsible for counseling the firm's national clients and deepening the agency's relationships on the West Coast. Previously, he was GM and EVP at Edelman Los Angeles, where he worked with brands including Starbucks, Microsoft, Nestle, Warner Bros, and Symantec.
Since Schuerman founded Enso last year, the firm has worked as AOR for clients such as the University of Southern California, travel social network Triptrotting, and jewelry brand Danhov. The agency's clients will be added to MWW's roster.
In May, MWW partnered with entertainment executive and CEO of KWL Management Kevin Liles to launch the MWW Entertainment unit. The agency also debuted MWW Ventures, an investment group that will provide resources for start-ups, in March.
MWW reported 18% revenue growth in 2011, compared with the previous year, to $38.6 million.
