The number of PR entries for this year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is up 38% compared with last year, the organization behind the awards said Wednesday.
More than 1,100 entries have been submitted for the PR Lions, including 139 from the US. Overall entries are up 19% this year.
PRWeek and German sister title PR Report are sponsoring the PR Lions, which were created in 2009. Winners will be announced on the evening of Monday, June 18.
Weber Shandwick global vice chair Gail Heimann is serving as Cannes' 2012 PR chair. Other judges include Jody Venturoni, EVP for the US at Hill+Knowlton Strategies; Marian Salzman, CEO for North America at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR; Matt Neale, international president at GolinHarris; and Joe Sinclair, UK creative director at Burson-Marsteller.
