SAN FRANCISCO: Michael Celiceo, former VP at Bite Communications, has joined digital publishing company SAY Media as director of global communications.
Celiceo officially started with the company on June 4 in a newly created role, reporting to VP of marketing Erin Olsson.
He will utilize media relations, executive visibility, videos, infographics, and other visual means of communication to raise awareness of SAY as a digital publishing company and ad platform.
SAY, which employs 400 people in 9 offices throughout the world, owns brands in four verticals: style, living, food, and technology. Celiceo will also support communications for some of the company's brands, which include ReadWriteWeb, Techdirt, and Hello Giggles.
Celiceo said he left the agency world to have the opportunity to support communications behind SAY Media's approach to digital publishing.
"There are not many times in your career when you have the opportunity to help shape the reputation and set the perception for a disruptive company that's really changing an industry, but I am getting to do this at SAY Media," he added.
Prior to Bite Communications, Celiceo was an account director at Waggener Edstrom. He also worked at Schwartz, Weber Shandwick, and Fleishman-Hillard.
