CONCORD, NH: The New Hampshire Division of Travel & Tourism Development has moved on from incumbent Montagne Communications and hired Lou Hammond & Associates to promote the state.
Lou Hammond's two-year contract is worth $300,000. The firm's mandate is to promote New Hampshire as a year-round getaway destination. The agency will target national media, as well as outlets in key geographic markets such as the Northeastern US and Canada.
“Lou Hammond had the strongest proposal on how best to bring New Hampshire to the forefront of the New York, Boston, and beyond markets,” said Tai Freligh, communications manager at the state tourism department.
Lori Harnois, director of the department, said in a statement that Lou Hammond is also well respected by the media and has an outstanding track record in the industry.
Montagne worked on the account for four years with an annual budget of $220,000.
Montagne respects New Hampshire's decision and wishes the tourism department the best, said Scott Tranchemontagne, president of Montagne Communications, via email. He added that as many as 17 firms pursued the account during a “very competitive” RFP process.
