WASHINGTON: MWW Group has hired Deana Perlmutter as deputy GM of its Washington office and SVP of corporate affairs.
Perlmutter will be responsible for managing the operations and strategy of MWW's DC office. She will help clients develop corporate, economic, and environmental sustainability strategies to advance market opportunities and report to CEO Michael Kempner. About 15 employees will report to her.
Perlmutter most recently led her own public affairs shop, the Integral Group. Previously, she was senior policy adviser at law firm Holland & Knight, where she launched and led its clean technology business. Perlmutter has also worked at Dutko Worldwide, helping it to open its Denver office.
She cited MWW's growth as a reason for joining the firm in the new position. “We were really limited and we didn't have the reach on the PR side,” she said about the Integral Group.
Perlmutter will bring three clients from her own firm: Weston Solutions, National Renewable Energy Laboratories, and Angstrom Energies.
“[Perlmutter] is an extremely compelling personality, and she brings significant expertise across a wide range of topics,” said Michael Kempner, president and CEO of MWW. “She is one of the few PR professionals who understand the inner workings of DC.”
MWW hired Brian Hague as VP of public affairs in its East Rutherford, NJ, office in March.
