Christine Cea, Unilever's marketing communications director, will be chair of judges for the PRWeek Awards 2013, entries for which open today.
Changes to the awards categories this year include splitting the PR Professional of the Year into two, one for an in-house PR pro and one for an agency communicator. The Best Use of Audio/Video category has been renamed Best Use of Broadcast/Digital; Best Use of Research/Measurement has been renamed Best Use of Analytics; and PR Innovation has been renamed PR Product/Service of the Year.
This year, for the first time, the PRWeek Awards will also honor a Communicator of the Year. Selected by the chair of judges and PRWeek editor-in-chief Steve Barrett, the award will be given to an individual deemed to be the most outstanding communicator in the period covered by the Awards, October 8, 2011 through October 5, 2012. The individual could come from within or outside the PR industry.
Annually, 1,000-plus attendees celebrate the industry's biggest night, where awards are given out in 35 categories that honor PR's best campaigns, techniques, personalities, academic curricula, and agency teams. The winners are selected by a group of the most esteemed judges the communications industry has to offer, representing leading in-house corporate communications teams, agencies, PR professors, service companies, and nonprofits.
The 14th annual PRWeek Awards ceremony will take place on March 7, 2013, at the Grand Hyatt in New York City and registration is now open for submissions. Visit awards.prweekus.com for details of the new and renamed categories and all the other information you will need to submit. The deadline for entries is Friday, October 5.
