CHICAGO: MWW Group has named Edelman SVP John Digles EVP and GM of the agency's Chicago office.
Digles, who worked at Edelman for more than two years, will report to MWW CEO Michael Kempner and lead the daily operations of the Windy City office, which has 15 staffers.Kathy Fieweger was previously GM of MWW's Chicago office.
“It's all about growth and leading the way as far as how we fully integrate social and a lot of the emerging disciplines throughout all of our work,” he explained.
Digles' main responsibilities will include managing the firm's growth throughout the Midwest, as well as expanding its practices, specifically consumer, consumer marketing, technology, and health and wellness, he said. Digles added that creating a “sense of synergy” across practices is a focus for him.
Digles worked at MWW from 1997, when the East Rutherford, NJ-based firm opened its Chicago office, to 2006. During that time he rose from senior account executive to SVP and helped to create the health and wellness practice. He said the group has paid off in recent years as more large brands have tried to recast themselves as health-focused.
During his time at Edelman, Digles worked on strategic planning and consumer marketing efforts for clients in the consumer technology, food and nutrition, wine and spirits, and health and wellness practices.
Between stints at MWW and Edelman, Digles was CMO of Xango, a maker of juice and personal care, nutritional, and energy supplemental products with natural ingredients. Digles worked at Xango from October 2006 to September 2008.
He has also served as an adjunct professor at DePaul University since 2010, teaching marketing and communications.
