NEW YORK: CJP Communications rebranded as Prosek Partners on Friday.
The firm decided to rebrand because it needed a unique name to use around the world, said managing partner Jen Prosek. CJP opened its first international office in London last year.
“The name has a clear connection to me, but it's also a reflection on the current equity partners in the business and our partnership with employees and clients,” Prosek said. “It's also an excellent solution because it's a name we can own around the world, and it has great SEO possibilities. ‘CJP' wasn't a very memorable three letters.”
The firm was previously known as Cubitt, Jacobs, & Prosek Communications.
Along with the name change, the independent firm has launched a new website and tagline, “Unboxed Communications.” Creative director Dave Zamba also redesigned the agency's logo as a box with a new color and curved edges for a modern look, he explained.
The rebrand has been in the works for the past year, during which CJP conducted internal and external research. Design and branding agency RO New York assisted with the rebranding process.
The firm's clients, who were notified of the new name, have been supportive of the change, said Prosek.
CJP, which specializes in financial communications, reported global revenue of $12.7 million in 2011 – nearly all of it in the US – and 26% revenue growth compared with 2010. Seventy percent of that growth was from new business.
