DALLAS: Yum! Brands subsidiary Pizza Hut has appointed Fleishman-Hillard SVP Doug Terfehr its PR director.
Terfehr, who has worked at Fleishman since July 2005 and served as SVP for the last three and a half years, will report directly to Pizza Hut CMO Kurt Kane. He left Fleishman last month.
Terfehr said via email that Yum is a “dominant category leader in so many ways.” “The QSR business is one of the most fast-paced in the industry and the opportunities that presents are endless,” he added.
Prior to working at Fleishman, where he started as an account and managing supervisor, Terfehr was a senior associate at Carmichael Lynch Spong from February 2002 to July 2005.
In July, Yum! Brands reported a 4.8% profit increase in the second quarter, compared with the same period of the previous year. Its profit in China, which is mainly comprised of business from KFC and Pizza Hut, fell 4% before currency translation in Q2.
Recently, Pizza Hut, with the help of PR AOR for the last five years Zeno Group, has promoted the P'Zolo through a mix of grassroots efforts and social media.
KFC, Pizza Hut's sister brand under the Yum umbrella, picked Emanate as its AOR in April after a search.
